Idea Cellular Revises Rs 199, Rs 449, and Rs 509 Prepaid Plans: Check Out What They Offer
Following the suit, even Reliance Jio has revised its plans which will now cost Rs. 50 lesser and offer 50 percent more benefit, and will go live at 12 AM on Jan 26, 2018. As we closely look at these updated plans from Idea Cellular, it is apparent that they are on par with the Airtel's offerings.
Getting into the details, the third largest Indian telecom operator has revised three of its prepaid plans which include Rs. 199, Rs. 449, and Rs. 509 plans. Firstly, the Rs. 199 plan will now offer 1.4GB data per day for 28 days making the overall data benefit 39GB. The second plan in the list, the Rs. 449 plan, comes with a validity period of 82 days and it offers 114GB data with a daily cap of 1.4GB.
Lastly, the Rs. 509 plan offers 126GB for 90 days with the daily data capped at 1.4GB. Having said that, all the three plans will offer unlimited calls and 100 SMSes per day alongside the data benefits. However, Idea didn't update its Rs. 357 tariff plan like Airtel has done with its Rs. 349 plan -- the Rs. 349 plan from Airtel is now offering 2.5GB data per day, up from the 2GB data per day offering.
Idea Cellular's new revised plans aren't yet official in all the circles, but we are expecting them to be available across all the circles in a couple of days. However, as of this writing, we can confirm that these plans are available in Tamilnadu circle. Furthermore, Idea Cellular is providing free 1GB data for customers recharging via My Idea app/website.
After looking at all the recent announcements from the major telecom operators, it seems like they are amidst of a war trying to defeat each other by introducing highly competitive plans.
