Nokia 8 Pro, Nokia 9 and Nokia 10: What to expect from Nokia's upcoming flagship smartphones
HMD Global brought Nokia mobile back from the dead last year with the likes of the Nokia 8, Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and so on. The comeback has been pretty successful so far - with the company outselling iconic brands like HTC, Sony, OnePlus and even Google.
Now, Nokia is set to launch a slew of new phones in 2018 - some of which are expected to show up as soon at the 2018 Mobile World Congress in a few days time. After launching Nokia's first Android powered flagship smartphone in the form of the Nokia 8 last year, HMD Global is expected to announce as many as three high-end smartphones this year - the Nokia 8 Pro, Nokia 9 and Nokia 10.
Here is what to expect from the Nokia's upcoming flagship smartphones:
The Nokia 8 Pro is set to be an updated version of last year's flagship - which received an 8.5/10 in our official review - and is expected to to be powered by Qualcomm's latest high-end Snapdragon 845 processor and come with an 18:9 edge-to-edge display, minimal bezels up front and a double glass design (3D glass on the front as well as the back).
With the Nokia 8, HMD Global revived an iconic partnership - that of Nokia and Carl ZEISS. If rumours are to be believed, the Nokia 8 Pro is set to take things up a notch (In fact, five notches) with a ZEISS branded penta-lens camera setup at the rear.
The setup basically involves 5 lenses arranged in a circular setup. There appears to be a single sensor with a primary fixed lens over which an assembly of multiple lenses can rotate. The arrangement is such that it allows for lenses of different focal lengths to add to the primary setup and provide for multiple shooting situations such as zoom, wide-angle and so on.
There are also certain rumours about HMD Global bringing back Nokia's iconic Sirocco series which was seen in smartphones like the 8800 Sirocco with a Nokia 8 Sirocco edition.
